Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate comprehensive patient satisfaction and quality of life following knee replacement surgery.
Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional design using a preapproved survey reviewed by three independent orthopedic consultants. Data were collected individually from the target population - post-total knee replacement (TKR) patients visiting rehabilitation centers in Makkah.
Results: The data of 94 respondents who underwent TKR were analyzed and included in the study. Most of the participants were 51-60 years old (41.5%), women (66.0%), and 56.4% were first-degree obese. Most of the participants (30.9%) had knee replacement surgery within the past year and 56.4% had undergone single-knee replacement. Postoperatively, participants reported substantial improvements in physical health. Over half (52.1%) rated their overall health as “excellent” following surgery. A significant association was observed between age and physical health outcomes (p = 0.038). Furthermore, a statistically significant association was shown between the time since surgery and mental health outcomes (p = 0.008).
Conclusion: This study underscores the importance of continued research into patient outcomes post-TKR, offering valuable insights into the effectiveness of knee replacement surgeries in enhancing patients’ well-being and quality of life.

Key words: Total knee replacement, quality of life, arthroplasty, postoperative satisfaction, Saudi Arabia
