Assessment of the Level of General Knowledge, and Awareness of Public Towards Seizures Disorders and Seizures Disorders Surgery in Hail City‎

Abstract
Background: Seizures disorders create a framework for clinicians, researchers, patients, and their families. The classification of seizures disorder is essential in diagnosis and treatment. This study aimed to assess the awareness of population in Hail about seizures disorders and seizures disorders surgery.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using an electronic questionnaire that was distributed among residents of Hail. Data collection included personal data, people's beliefs, and level of awareness. The data were analyzed and encoded using Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS.
Results: Out of 525 people who participated in the current study, 80.3% were female and 19.7% were male. The age was classified into four groups; the majority of the participants were university students (78.6%), followed by 38% aged from 16 to 25, 28% aged from 26 to 40 and above 40 groups, and the last group aged less than 18 years (5.5%).
Conclusions: There is low level of awareness, poor knowledge, and a negative attitude regarding seizures disorder and seizures disorder surgery. More education about seizures disorder and seizures disorder surgery for the community is required to improve their understanding and approaches towards the disorder and how to treat it. Additionally, more training is crucial for the healthcare workers to can educate the community members on seizures disorder and seizures disorder surgery, which in turn will correct the misconceptions about this disorder and significantly reduce the hocus pocus.
