Abstract
Stroke is a cerebrovascular disorder that represents a considerable global burden, affecting millions of lives annually. It is a leading reason for disability, and survivors often experience varied levels of disabilities that potentially affect their lives. The disabilities include motor impairments, speech and language difficulties, cognitive deficits, and psychological challenges. Stroke rehabilitation is a health process that aims to facilitate individuals with a healthy state, and it is crucial for reducing the sequelae following stroke. This review aimed to identify the importance of rehabilitation after stroke by reviewing the previous research concerned with such a subject. The search procedure required the exploration of scientific databases and using several related terms. Eligible articles were original articles written in English language and full-text articles. A total of eight studies were enrolled in this review, including a total of 1,022,34 stroke patients. Four studies assessed the effectiveness of timing and/or intensiveness of rehabilitation. The other four studies reported rehabilitation provided by nurses, community rehabilitation teams, and in-patient, and unsupervised rehabilitation. Post-stroke rehabilitation is very important for the recovery of patients and improving their condition. Better effectiveness of rehabilitation could be detected for early and intensive rehabilitation.

Key words: Stroke, rehabilitation, outcomes, importance, systemic review
