Impact of class II and III malocclusion on oral health-related quality of life among dental students in Qassim region.

Abstract
Background
Malocclusion is a multifactorial dentofacial disorder that affects the majority of
people in the population. While not considered a disease, malocclusion
can have significant impacts on orofacial aesthetics, oral functions, and oral
health. When left untreated, it can lead to various psychological and social
problems that can adversely affect an individual's quality of life.
Methods
A cross‑ sectional web‑ based questionnaire‑ based study on dental students in
Qassim region in their clinical years, 31 dental students were impacted by
skeletal class II and class III malocclusion are questioned Using a self
administered 22-item Orthognathic Quality of Life Questionnaire. Multiple
comparisons were conducted using the one-way ANOVA test for normally
distributed data. SPSS version 27 was utilized for all statistical analyses.
(SPSS Inc., IL, USA).
Result
Overall comparison of impact on oral health-related quality of life between the
two-population there was a significant difference between them with P-Value
0.031
Conclusions
The results indicate that this type of malocclusion can affect different aspects of quality of life, self-confidence, and oral function.
Additionally, the study suggests that females may be more affected by aesthetic appearance and oral function than males
